Insurance brokers merge
Erina based Academy Insurance Brokers have merged with BMS LIB Insurance Brokers of Liverpool with the new company now known as as APEX Insurance Brokers.
Commenting on the merger which took place at the start of this year, General Manager and Executive Director, Darren Hutton (formerly a director of Academy) said, “we see a number of important benefits in this move for clients, staff and suppliers. The merger has created a larger entity with a greater range of services for our clients, and greater opportunities for our staff.”
Both offices will continue to operate in Erina and Liverpool and have already extended to include two additional regional offices in Narellan and Tamworth.
John Buckton who founded Academy some thirty years ago has been retained as a Director.



Property valuers join forces
Two long established Central Coast property valuation firms have merged to become Central Coast Property Advisory Service.
Cameron and Links Valuers and Advise Property Consulting have operated as successful independent valuation practices for the past twenty years on the Central Coast.
Directors Paul Links and David Melverton said that the new practice had retained all of the staff from both practices to provide a continuity of service to their clients.
“We now employ five full-time valuers plus one contract valuer as well as three support staff,” said Mr Links.
Central Coast Property Advisory Service will continue to specialise in residential, commercial and industrial property in the Gosford, Wyong and Lake Macquarie Local Government Areas.



Central Coast Uniforms changes hands
Alan Pasin has sold Central Coast Uniforms at Tuggerah due to ill health. He had owned the business since 1999.
New owners are Advance Design directors James Piper and Ray Lehrer who see the synergies between the two businesses providing opportunities to further expand. All of the staff at Central Coast Uniforms have been retained.
The sale was negotiated by Argle Estates Business Brokers.



Jeskah amalgamates with Amar
con
Jeskah Steel Products have amalgamated with the Amarcon Group Pty Ltd and now trade under the Amarcon name.
Jeskah was set up by John Spath more than twenty years ago specialising in structural steel work.
Commenting on the deal Mr Spath said, “we have been working together for the past two years. This gives us the opportunity to amalgamate our two draughting office and offer design and construct and steel and concrete panel packages for builders and owners mainly in commercial and industrial field.”
Mr Spath said they will continue with structural steel work for the construction industry that Jeskah is best known for.
Amarcon was established in 2003 by Clive North, Glen Balneaves and Carl Beuerhuit specialising in manufactured precast concrete panels.



New owner for The Throttle Shop
Nathan Bajada has sold The Throttle Shop at West Gosford. Established for over ten years the high profile workshop is an Authorised Repco Service Centre and is best known for its performance work. The new owner is Michael Madrusan.
The sale was negotiated by Argyle Estates Business Brokers.



Graham Tweedie sells Leader Hydraulics
Leader Hydraulics at West Gosford has been sold to Ray and Colleen Sullivan.
Established in 1982 by Graham Tweedie, Leader Hydraulics manufactures and repairs hydraulic equipment for earth moving equipment, heavy vehicles, marine and food industry applications. Mr Sullivan, who lives at Umina, had worked for Allfords Hydraulics in Hornsby for some seventeen years.Graham Tweedie has retained the Pirtek Hose franchise which he has also owned since 1982 and operates from the same 18 Manns Road, West Gosford address.



ceo Architectural expands

Building designers, ceo Architectural, have expanded and relocated to offices at Platinum Erina.
Principal, Craig Olsen said that the firm had added two architectural draughtsmen to the staff to cope with additional work.
Established in 1995 by Craig Olsen, ceo Architectural specialises in high end residential projects as well as commercial and industrial, predominantly in the Hunter Valley and South East Queensland.

Local businessmen, Dujon Zivic, Shane Rigney and Ron McGregor have established The Business Factory in Bounty Close, Tuggerah Business Park in response to small business owners and entrepreneurs seeking serviced office space at Tuggerah.

Fastest growing accountancy practice establishes Central Coast office

Business, property and tax accountants, Chan & Naylor have established a accounting office on the Central Coast based at Platinum Erina.
Based at Pymble, Chan & Naylor has offices also at Parramatta, Norwest, Melbourne and Perth and have been ranked in BRW’s top 100 Accounting Firms in Australia. Chartered Accountant, Rod Evans, has been appointed a Partner of the firm and will manage the Central Coast office.



Tyre company to concentrate on SME business market
Following the purchase of tyre retailers, Tyres & More, by Paul Lynch and Todd Saunders, the business has been re-branded as Argy Tyres & More and will concentrate on the small to medium size business market on the Central Coast.
Lynch and Saunders have also bought the Tyres and More businesses at Glendale and Toronto in the Hunter which will be similarly re-branded.

The West Gosford business was originally Gateway Tyres operated by  the Dave Parker Family for twenty-five years and was sold three years ago to Newcastle tyre company, Argy Tyres & More and traded as Tyres & More. Under the Argy brand the new owners now offer full tyre and wheel sales and service along with a full range of manufacturer’s handbook car servicing, car repairs and vehicle inspections.

“Our aim is to provide the small and medium size business owner with a one stop car servicing option. We have extended our trading hours and will be more customer focussed,” said Managing Director, Paul Lynch. “As soon as we can, we will add a customer friendly lounge area with coffee and internet facilities so that customers can work while their cars are being serviced,” he said.

A qualified mechanic with management qualifications, Mr Lynch was formerly Business Development Manager for Subaru Australia. Mr Saunders was formerly Chief Financial Officer for Sanitarium Health Foods who specialises in business investment. Both are Central Coast residents.
