Gosford Headquarters for Bias Boating Warehouse

 e same time their retail store on the Pacific Highway at West Gosford has been moved into the new premises that had formerly been occupied by Boaties Marine Superstore (which closed down some months ago) thereby combining all of their operations on the one site.

The company which was established in 1973 also operates an extensive mail order catalogue service which was the first for boating equipment in Australia.

As well as the West Gosford store, Bias Boating operates a store at Tuggerah and a chain of a further thirteen throughout Australia. A fifteenth store opens on the Gold Coast this month.

Chief Executive Officer Tim Leahy, who, with a syndicate of others bought the business last year said that there was an obvious need to amalgamate the head office, mail order and warehousing operations onto one site. "This site gave us an opportunity to move our retail store as well and set it up as a model store from which we intend to design all future stores as we roll-out more branches," he said.

Bias Boating presently employs 24 staff at West Gosford. Mr Leahy said that a number of key employees had remained with the company and are commuting from Sydney. However, he said that he was impressed with the quality of the local staff he had employed.

Commenting on the move Mr Leahy said that for Bias Boating, West Gosford was the perfect location because the premises, which are on a large site, were available for immediate occupancy and Gosford is a very cost effective location from which to despatch deliveries to mail order customers and the company's branches.
