A trifecta of awards for Ramm Botanicals
Central Coast business, Ramm Botanicals, has won three prestigious national awards at the Nursery & Garden Industry Association Awards night held in Adelaide on 28th March.
The company was represented by Managing Director, Jeff Cooke, and Production Director, Ryan Weber. Mr Cooke said “The NGIA Awards are the pinnacle of the nursery industry’s year, where each company is judged nationally against their peers. Winning your category in the state awards automatically puts you into the national awards, so we were vying for the national Training Award, Export Award and Best Large Production Nursery. And we went on to win all three at the national level!”
Mr Cooke went on to say “our ongoing training program is further enhancing the skills of our staff and our export activities have increased with improved distribution channels in major markets like USA, Europe and Japan. The large production nursery category is judged separately at both state and national levels, so winning this award is no fluke."
Mr Cooke said, “The final and most esteemed award presented on the night is for the Large Production Nursery. When our name was announced, we were totally overwhelmed. Ryan and I were so proud to receive this award on behalf of all our staff.”
The Large Production Nursery Award acknowledges Ramm Botanicals’ current-best-practice production procedures, encompassing plant quality, documented laboratory and nursery protocols and its commitment to product development.
Over the last five years, Ramm Botanicals has continually refined its production processes and redefined its product range to ensure the business supplies products that suit the needs and lifestyle of its Australian and export customers. Mr Cooke said, “Ramm Botanicals is very proud of its achievements and is looking forward to future success.”
Ramm Botanicals commenced business in December 2002, after merging with Yates Botanicals and Ramm Pty Ltd. The company operates on two sites on the Central Coast. A world-class tissue culture laboratory operates at Somersby, with their young plant nursery, R&D facility and administration offices located at Tuggerah. They currently employ around ninety people.
Ramm Botanicals is internationally renowned for their kangaroo paw breeding program which is the world's biggest. They distribute kangaroo paws as tissue cultures to many markets including USA, Europe and Japan.
