Big retail brands eyeing off Umina Beach - Ritchies Supa IGA Erina to spend $4 m on renovations - New appointments at Lake Haven Shopping Centre - New Centre Manager for Westfield Tuggerah
Big retail brands eyeing off Umina Beach Woolworths Limited is reported to have bought a site in Umina Beach presently occupied by G&B Mitre 10 and other retailers in the Civic Video complex. As it will be some time before a Woolworths Supermarket is operating Mitre 10 say its business as usual. At the same time it is understood that Woolworths are looking for a service station site in Umina as well. CCBR also understands that the Aldi Supermarket group is looking for a suitable site in Umina. Gosford Council is currently preparing a LEP for Umina Beach which will deliver an increase in the zoned commercial space between West Street and Wellington Street.
Ritchies Supa IGA Erina to spend $4m on renovations Ritchies Supa IGA at Erina Shopping Village is to spend $4 million on renovations to their supermarket store. Ritchies bought the 2,000 sqm supermarket in 2006. Ritchies NSW State Manager, David Scally, said that the renovations would involve a complete gut and rebuild of the interior including floor and ceiling as well as a modernising the exterior. “The DA is presently before Council and we expect to start work in July and re-open in October,” said Mr Scally A new delicatessen and Leonards Chicken franchise will be included in the refit. Sydney building company, Mainbrace Constructions (NSW) Pty Limited will carry out the work.
New appointments at Lake Haven Shopping Centre Colonial First State Property Management has announced two recent changes to the Lake Haven Shopping Centre management team. Kerry Bowley has been promoted to Operations Manager, overseeing the operational functions of the shopping centre. Ms Bowley was previously Retail Manager for the centre and has over 20 years shopping centre management experience.
Katrina Cooke has been recruited to the new position of Retail Marketing Manager. The role of the Retail Marketing Manager will merge two previous functions into one, being the Retail Manager and Marketing Manager. The responsibility of centre marketing has previously been held by Centre Manager, Mike Cochrane, since 2005.
Ms Cooke will be responsible for the development and delivery of the overall strategic marketing of the Centre, including brand management, along with the development and management of retail support programs such as retailer education, marketing support, sales analysis, and customer service programs.
Ms Cooke comes into the role with a background in hospitality marketing, being part of the team responsible for the Holiday Inn brand in the Northern Territory and Sydney markets. Katrina holds a Bachelor of Computer Systems Management – Majoring in Marketing and Information Systems.
New Centre Manager for Westfield Tuggerah Westfield has announced that Michael Charlton, Centre Manager at their Tuggerah shopping centre has been appointed Centre Manager at their Hornsby centre. Mr Charlton had been at Tuggerah for almost two years. Westfield are expected to announce a new Centre Manager in May.
