Central Coast Promotion in Hong Kong
The Central Coast has featured in nineteen pages of the Hong Kong lifestyle magazine, Umagazine, which has been inserted into the Hong Kong Economic Times.
This follows a visit by a team from Umagazine to the Coast earlier this year with a major focus on houseboat holidays during which they experienced a stay on the Tooralee Houseboat on Brisbane Water as well as on the Hawkesbury River with Holidays Afloat. The group also visited Norah Head Lighthouse, Glenworth Valley and the Bells at Killcare.
Singapore Success! Over the last six months Central Coast Tourism has been pro-actively working in the Singapore & Malaysian markets promoting the region as an add-on to a visit to Sydney. A few months on and the region is already being featured in a number of campaigns and packaged itineraries in both Singapore and Malaysia.
The first Singapore operator to package the Central Coast is market leader Dynasty Travel, who features an overnight itinerary. The tour includes a visit to the Australian Reptile Park, St Fiacre Distillery, Yarramalong Macadamia Nut Farm and Pelican Feeding with overnight accommodation at The Oaks Waterfront at The Entrance.
Central Coast Tourism, in conjunction with Tourism NSW in Singapore, is involved in a radio promotion on 938LIVE to increase awareness of this Dynasty Travel package. Tying in with Mother’s Day, the campaign encourages listeners to nominate a special mother and the winner of the competition scoops an all expenses paid trip to Sydney for them both – including a night on the Central Coast. The Central Coast has also been included in the TNSW Best of Sydney Campaign which is an FIT (fully independent traveller) package sold in both Singapore and Malaysia. Sarah Bennett, Sales and Marketing Manager of Central Coast Tourism said, “We have spent the last 6 months raising awareness of the region and now it is really gaining momentum. It will still take some time until increased visitation is realised, but there is definitely a lot of interest in the Central Coast from both Singapore and Malaysia. We are consistently seeing a high number of visitors from Singapore using our website, with it being placed 4th or 5th on the website visitors’ country of origin top ten list.”
