Marketing myths busted with independent advice
After 25 years working for some of Australia’s largest media groups, Paul West saw the need for someone to provide totally independent marketing advice to local businesses. “It’s hard for people in business to find someone to help them who doesn’t have a vested interest in which advertising medium they use or how much they spend” Mr West said. His marketing and advertising consultancy, Mythbuster, works for a one off set-up fee, monthly retainer and performance bonus. Mr West says “this means that clients know the total motivation is on choosing methods that best suit their circumstances, including their budget.”
Mythbuster can be contacted for a free evaluation meeting on 0427 320 697.

Rescue Service appoints Coast representative
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has appointed Central Coast resident, Shannon O’Hagan to work with the community to help raise the essential funds for the Service.

The Central Coast is served by the benchmark Service that covers not only the Central Coast but the Hunter and Mid North Coast. Its twin engine helicopters are within minutes of all parts of the regions and since its inception in the early 1970’s medical care and emergency rescue has changed dramatically. General Manager Richard Jones said, “The community-owned Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is an integral part of the health care chain in which the medical profession and the department of health need to transfer patients.”

Approximately $8 million is required to operate the Service each year, of which about one third comes from contracts with the NSW Government through the Department of Health and NSW Ambulance. The remainder is raised with the help of the community. The Service is free of charge and this is only possible from the generous support of the community and business sector who play a major role in raising the necessary funds to keep the helicopters flying”.

Shannon O’Hagan is based at the Westpac Business Centre, Fountain Plaza, Erina and can be contacted on 0438 449 444.

New look for iconic brand
The thirteen offices of LJ Hooker located around the Central Coast as well as the LJ Hooker Commercial office at Tuggerah Business Park will take on a new look this month as part of a company-wide re-image project.

The change will affect all branded collateral including signboards, property advertisements, website, office collateral and branded vehicles. The change to the company’s iconic brand coincides with the company’s 80th anniversary celebrations.

“The LJ Hooker brand itself is an extremely valuable asset to the company,” said Warren McCarthy, LJ Hooker Managing Director. “LJ Hooker is one of the most recognisable brands in Australia with our research showing 100 per cent recall on two of our taglines – ‘Thank you Mr Hooker’ and ‘Nobody Does It Better’ – as well as our colours, black, yellow and red’.

“The new look brand is a fresh and contemporary version while also keeping the aspects of the brand that Australians recognise and are comfortable with. The new look image is also designed to align all our non-traditional real estate services and create better brand consistency,” said Mr McCarthy.

Local agents are embracing the change with their office shopfronts, signage and marketing material now reflecting the new logo and image.
