New look and new format for 2008 Business Expo

The 8th annual expo – The Brew Business & Innovation Expo – will be held at Mingara Recreation Club on Wednesday August 13 and Thursday August 14.

At the heart of the expo is the business to business trade show of local products and services, together with a programme of 10 business development seminars.

New name
The Brew is a totally new initiative by the Expo organisers to strengthening business by connecting business.

The aim of The Brew is provide Business-to-Business (B2B) professionals with education, motivation, networking and marketing opportunities within their local area and across Australia. The Brew tribe is an active audience of business professionals who get involved online and at The Brew B2B Expos.....brewing their business.

New content
This year organisers have added some new content features to appeal to the more experienced business operator. “I think that there has been a perception that the expo is just about the new businesses or those who want to access 'how to do' things” said Bambi Gordon, expo organiser, “Perhaps because the focus has been upon small business, and years ago a small business may have been considered to be an inexperienced or unsophisticated one.
But in fact as more and more people join the small business sector, and as more small businesses succeed – as the business landscape changes – the small business market is not only a viable one but is leading the charge in areas such as innovation”

Latest business views and news

The expo is about providing the latest views and news from business, local business operators sharing their real world case studies, as well as information that can be gathered from exhibitors and within seminars on ‘how to’ run a business.

Tourism opportunities

This year’s Expo includes a Panel Discussion addressing the most important issues for the Central Coast tourism industry, hosted by Sarah Kerrsmith, Marketing Manager and Horst Endrulat, CEO, Central Coast Tourism.

Innovation, R&D Grants

AusIndustry are hosting an Innovation Forum for those who have an idea, who are currently doing Research & Development or have developed a new innovation and are looking for advice on funding, development, commercialisation, intellectual property and exporting.

Regional opportunities

The NSW Department of State & Regional Development will host a briefing for business and industry on regional opportunities.

Interviews

Popular local business identity and publisher of Central Coast Business Review, Edgar Adams, will be interviewing a number of business owners in three ‘on the couch’ style presentations: Starting from Scratch, Managing and Retaining Staff, and Keeping Ahead of Technology.

Workshops
For those who want to really get into ‘working on’ rather than in their business, there will be a number of workshops on general management and marketing. And, for the experienced business operator who wants to take their business to the next level or discover a new way of thinking about an old challenge, there are a limited number of one-on-one private coaching sessions.

"Our job is to create the infrastructure, content, and motivation, for business to come together for the two days of the expo and ‘join the conversation’” said Bambi Gordon “Once they participate there is no end to the impact – and sometimes unintended benefits – to their business across the year”.

The Expo and all presentations are free to attend. Registration is available at www.thebrew.com.au For those interested in exhibiting, information is online or call 1300 55 32 35.
