Minerals testing laboratory at West GosfordAMML is a new minerals testing laboratory at West Gosford, specialising in flotation testing, hydrometallurgy, gravity and comminution testwork and soil remediation technologies. Recently established by General Manager, Graeme Sheldon, a metallurgist with over thirty-five years experience in the mining industry, AMML provides a commercial service to exploration and mining companies, throughout Australia and the world. AMML is a division of Ausmelt Limited public listed company specialising in the development of chemical processes for the mining industry worldwide. Mr Sheldon has been involved in testwork at the world’s biggest mines in Chile, Peru, African countries, Australia and Asia, having worked for companies such as Mt Isa Mines, Warman International and having operated his own consulting business in the mining industry over many years. The West Gosford laboratory’s activities include troubleshooting for existing operations, development of processes for treating new ore bodies, or providing data for bankable feasibility studies. They are presently undertaking studies for base and precious metal mining companies in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Canada, Kazakhstan, China, Fiji and throughout Australia. AMML’s staff of eight people have extensive mining industry experience. Asked why the company had established at West Gosford Mr Sheldon said that he has lived on the Central Coast for many years and this is the case for half of their staff. “West Gosford is a good location for our operation,” he said.
