NSW Government launches tool kit for retail tenants

The NSW Department of State and Regional development has released a new information tool kit for retail tenants planning to start a business.

Produced by the Department's retail tenancy unit, the kit is available online at www.retail.nsw.gov.au/infokit.

NSW Minister for Small Business, Joe Tripodi, said the kit was designed to improve confidence in negotiating a fair lease with landlords. The tool kit outlined key steps and challenges to establishing a small business, he said.

Mr Tripodi said the kit encouraged tenants to search for workable business arrangements. "It lays out the fundamentals of retail leases before tenants sign up," he said.
