Deepwater Plaza retains position as leading Mini Gun centre

A survey of shopping centres in the size range from 7,000sqm to 20,000sqm Gross Lettable Area (GLA) has Deepwater Plaza at Woy Woy placed 16th in size across Australia, the same position it held a year earlier. The survey is carried out each year by Shopping Centre News magazine with centres graded as Big Guns, Little Guns and Mini Guns. 160 centres across Australia were rated Mini Guns. At 18,355 sqm GLA, Deepwater Plaza is one of 57 centres over 15,000 sqm GLA in Australia.
The centre is also highly ranked in Moving Annual Turner (MAT) for the period August 2007 to July 2008, coming in at 21st place at $118.28 per square metre. Shopping Centre News also reported that customer traffic last year for Deepwater Plaza was 4.08 million people with the average spend per visit being $28.95.

Mitre 10 loses ground on Central Coast

G&B Mitre 10 Umina Beach closed in October and November will see the closure of the Mitre 10 Gosford hardware store, leaving just three stores under the franchise banner on the Central Coast, at North Wyong, Kincumber and The Entrance.
Earlier this year, the Sandel brothers sold their Umina property to Woolworths, while the Sullens Family sold their Gosford property to the Department of Housing recently for redevelopment into low-cost accommodation with 250 residential units.
Mitre 10 is a co-operative with more than 600 franchised stores in Australia and New Zealand.
