The latest business sales, new businesses and executive appointments on the Central Coast.
New General Manager at Sun Weekly Newcastle Newspapers, publishers of The Central Coast Sun Weekly has appointed Kieron O’Toole as General Manager. Mr O’Toole has worked for Newcastle Newspapers for seven years and has managed the display sales team for the past five years. He succeeds Jason King who has returned to Newcastle as Advertising Sales Manager where he will be responsible for both The Herald and The Star newspapers.
DSRD Central Coast relocates to Ourimbah Campus The Central Coast office of the NSW Department of State & Regional Development (DSRD) has relocated to Ourimbah Campus. The new office is located in the Business Incubator on North Loop Road, Central Coast Campus, University of Newcastle, Ourimbah. Central Coast representation for Sharp Nathan Walker and Nigel Neubauer have established Sharp Document Solutions Central Coast. The new firm has bought the Central Coast representation rights for Sharp photocopiers from Sharp Electronics Office National in Newcastle.
Mr Walker had been Central Coast Branch Manager of Office National for the past eight years. Mr Neubauer has twenty-five years experience in the industry and has relocated to the Central Coast from Sydney.
New Sales Manager for Quay West Magenta Shores Mirvac Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Sarah Gray as Sales Manager of Quay West Resort Magenta Shores. She succeeds Bronwyn Wood who has been appointed Sales Manager, Conference & Incentives for Mirvac Hotels & Resorts based in Sydney.
Ms Gray was formerly Business Development Manager for Mirvac Hotels & Resorts based at Quay West Magenta Shores - a position she held since the pre-opening of the Resort some two and a half years ago. Prior to that Ms Gray was Business Development Manager at the Sebel Kirkton Park Hunter Valley, also a Mirvac property.
Tecknow takes on AWA franchise Tecknow Computers has joined forces with AWA and is now the Franchisee for the iconic Australian company now based at Tuggerah Business Park.
Commenting on the move, Managing Director of Tecknow, Craig Kettle said, “We have all grown up knowing of Amalgamated Wireless Australasia (AWA). The company traces its origins to 1909 and its design, manufacture and supply of household electrical and electronic consumables such as AM wireless, television, mobile two-way radio, gaming systems, and telecom pair-gain systems for Telstra, all from a huge manufacturing plant at Ashfield in Sydney.”
AWA offers a comprehensive range of services for Central Coast businesses, all from their premises at Tuggerah Business Park. These services include warranty repair services including pick-up and delivery for faulty products such as HP, Lexmark, Kodak, Apple, Toshiba, Compaq and Dell. Other services they provide include; IT&T support, preventative maintenance, information security, server and network infrastructure, offsite data storage, commercial Wifi systems with firewall and VOIP.
Adelaide dive site an opportunity for new owners of The Reef Terrigal Lynne and Jonathon Keeling have bought The Reef restaurant at The Haven in Terrigal. Mr Keeling was formerly General Manager of Dive Imports Australia at Erina, and with his mother, said that the purchase had been influenced by the proposed HMAS Adelaide dive site being off Terrigal.
“The Adelaide will present huge opportunities for Terrigal businesses and The Reef is well situated to take advantage of this great attraction,” he said. Prior to working in the dive business Mr Keeling had studied hospitality and tourism. “We intend to maintain the service and quality levels set by the previous owners, Mark and Phillipa Rogers, with an emphasis on local produce and a wine list sourced from boutique wineries,” said Mrs Keeling. The Cove Café which operates beneath The Reef will be modified to incorporate take away meals for visitors at The Haven.
Terrigal café sold The Piazza family has sold Patcinos on Church – Terrigal after owning it for four years. The Piazzas now wish to have a break as they also owned a successful Pizza Shop for thirteen years prior to Patcinos.
New owners and locals of Terrigal, Sandra and Adrian Bartholomew, bring with them a wealth of knowledge after recently returning from five years in Europe working in the top end of the hospitality industry.
Argyle Estates Business Brokers negotiated the sale and stated the enormous interest in this well established business.Patcinos has a solid local following from one of the smallest café sites on the Central Coast.
