International awards for St Fiacre Distillery -- National award for Archi-type

International award for St Fiacre Distillery

St Fiacre Distillery at Erina has won three Awards for their liqueurs against the world’s best at the 2008 International Spirit Competition in Germany. St Fiacre Distillery won the Herb Liqueur of the Year Grand Gold Medal, achieving 95 points out of a possible 100 with their Aniseed Myrtle Liqueur.

Earlier, at the 2008 International Wine and Spirit Competition in London, their Mountain Pepperberry Liqueur won Silver for Best in Class. Some of the other liqueurs that attained Silver Medals at the Competition were Benedictine, Frangelico, Kahlua and Tia Maria, while their Lemon Myrtle Liqueur took out a Bronze Medal.

St Fiacre Garden Café and Distillery was established by Philip Moore around two years ago on the property formerly known as The Fragrant Garden. He was the founder of the Renaissance Herbs group of growers – the largest wholesale herb nursery group in Australia. His own herb nursery which he had operated since 1993 was located at Warnervale until he sold out to pursue the making of liqueurs from Australian native herbs and fruits.

National award for Archi-type

West Gosford sign manufacturers, Archi-type, have taken out one of the top awards at this year’s Australian National Sign Awards, conducted by the Australian Sign and Graphics Association.
Archi-type was the Gold Medal winner in the Laser Engraving Category and was a finalist in the Directional Signage category.

Competition in the Awards was strong with companies from all over Australia entering.
The conceptual design for the award entry was done by Central Coast designer, Barry Parker of Creative ID whose client was Mission Australia. Archi-type Manager, Ken Studdert provided the laser technical design and Graphic Designer, Glenis Nicholls was the in-house fabricator. In all there were approximately 20 plaques made for Mission Australia.

Commenting on their success, Mr Studdert said, “The receipt by Archi-type of this significant Award is another example of how the Central Coast is maturing as a formidable commercial and industrial region and that businesses located on the Coast can deliver high quality and innovative products. The concept, design and fabrication of this plaque was all achieved here on the Central Coast with co-operation by two local businesses. This should be an encouragement for all Central Coast businesses to realise that the Coast has an amazing wealth of talent available and local businesses can aspire to be the best in Australia.”
