Ramm Botanicals in partnership to transform gardens
A partnership between the Festival Development Corporation, which operates Mt Penang Gardens, and Central Coast horticultural development company Ramm Botanicals, is set to transform the Gardens.
Ramm Botannicals have donated more than 2,000 plants to the Gardens for a special native plant display. As part of the agreement Ramm will provide 1,000 new plants per year to the Gardens and will have access to film and photograph plants once fully established. Announced at a ceremony with Minister for the Central Coast John Della Bosca and Ramm Botanicals Managing Director Jeff Cooke last month, to coincide with the opening of the Australian Springtime Flora Festival, it was also an opportunity to launch Ramm’s new groundbreaking plant species known as “Bush Diamond”, a White Kangaroo Paw, which is expected to gain a strong market overseas. Commenting on the partnership with Ramm Botanicals Mr Della Bosca said, “Mt Penang Gardens is now home to some of the most unique and spectacular new plant species in the world. What’s so exciting about this new venture is the plants have been developed specifically to thrive in Australia’s harsh conditions in Ramm Botanical laboratories right here on the Central Coast. This is a partnership set to benefit both the Gardens as a tourist attraction and also the company which provides over 90 local jobs.”
