Mariners promote Coast in Hong KongBusiness Central Coast and Central Coast Tourism joined forces in early June to maximise the Central Coast Mariners' participation in the Hong Kong Sevens Tournament and promote the Region in the important Hong Kong business and tourism market for the Central Coast. During their time in Hong Kong the Mariners attended a special function at Hong Kong’s Miramar Hotel meeting leading Hong Kong travel agents, major airline representatives and the Hong Kong media, promoting the Central Coast for tourism and business, as well as for sporting events.“This was an excellent and unique opportunity for us to further strengthen business relations with our travel trade partners in Hong Kong, in a relaxed atmosphere where our business clients could not only get close to our local football stars but also gain the latest information on new tourism products we have introduced into the international market recently” Horst Endrulat CEO of Central Coast Tourism said. Commenting on the visit Kerry Ruffels, CEO of Business Central Coast, said, “I was impressed with the clientele in attendance; we had major tour operators there who already feature tours and overnight stays to and on the Central Coast in their programs; also, major airlines Qantas Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific were there and the Hong Kong media paid us attention as well.” “The Mariners were excellent ambassadors for the Coast. They have done a great promotional job” “The North Asian market (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea) is the fastest growing international tourism market for the Central Coast, injecting at the present time some 30 million dollars per annum into the local economy. New products which we have introduced only recently, such as Cedar Park Lavender Farm and the Macadamia Nut Farm in the Yarramalong Valley, are now already enjoying regular group business from these markets” Horst Endrulat said. City of Orange Promotion The success of the Hong Kong trip has led Business Central Coast and Central Coast Tourism to once again join the Mariners on a road trip, but on this occasion much closer to home. The central west NSW City of Orange will host the Central Coast Mariners and the Queensland Roar and that city is keen to build a relationship between the Mariners and the Central Coast. “Business Central Coast and Central Coast Tourism agree that the partnership with the Mariners has opened up new opportunities to further promote the Coast as a tourist and business centre,” Kerry Ruffels said. |
