Central Coast exposed to 1.3 billion people

In the lead up to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, CCTV, the National Chinese TV network, is producing a documentary about those cities which have hosted the Olympic Games in the past.

Arriving in Sydney, the TV crew wanted to film surf lifesavers and a rugby team, but, rather than go to Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach and one of the well known Sydney rugby clubs, they decided to film on the Central Coast, thanks to close business relationships in China that Central Coast Tourism has built over the past few years.
“We did everything to make sure that the Central Coast was the most attractive option for filming.  We had outstanding support from the Woy Woy Rugby Club, Blue Tongue Stadium and Gosford City Council’s professional Lifeguards who all featured in the film,” Horst Endrulat CEO of CCT said.
The Chinese film crew stayed four days on the Central Coast and besides filming rugby and surf lifesaving they also visited Cedar Park Lavender Farm in the Yarramalong Valley and the Pelican Feeding in The Entrance. “The film will be shown in China in early August and the expected audience is over 1.3 billion, which must be the biggest TV audience the Central Coast region has ever received” Peter Hale Chairman of CCT said.
