Feds Tip in $2.7 Million for Wyong Youth Skills and Employment Centre
The Federal Government is to fund a unique employment and small business initiative at Wyong.
The announcement was made in late July by The Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government and Member for Dobell, Craig Thomson MP while the Minister was visiting Wyong.
The Government’s $2.7 million dollars will be supported with a land contribution from Wyong Council valued at $1.8 million dollars as well as a substantial contribution from Central Coast Group Training. CCGT Manager, Alison Cook, said, “with youth unemployment recently peaking a 42.2%, we believe it is imperative to provide a clear link and partnership between new business and the skills required to assist them particularly as they are one of the largest employer groups in our region.”
“The Centre will take about twelve months to build and will coincide with our thirtieth year as the Coast’s largest provider of apprentices and trainees,” she said.
