Warnervale GP Super Clinic construction underway

Construction of the GP Super Clinic at Warnervale commenced in August and is on target to be completed by mid 2012.

The brainchild of Toukley GP, Dr Brad Cranney, who owns the Toukley Family Practice, the Super Clinic has been scaled back to that envisaged at the start of 2011.

Dr Cranney’s plans were for a $17 million Super Clinic that would be the largest on the Central Coast offering the most comprehensive medical and health services to the northern areas of the region.

Stage 1 will now consist of a 2-storey building comprising:  a total of twelve consulting rooms, treatment room, procedure room, pharmacy and pathology, and large rehab physiotherapy. Eight consulting rooms have been allocated for specialists. There will also be a staff lunch room as well as board room and facilities for education of students plus three administration offices. In addition car parking for 108 vehicles will be provided.

The project cost for this stage will be $10.5 million of which the Federal Government will contribute $2.5 million as part of their GP Super Clinic programme.

It is being built on a 1.5 hectare site on the northern side of Sparks Rd, in Mary Mackillop Drive.

Currently a temporary GP Super Clinic is being operated by Dr Cranney to provide much needed services to an underserved northern Wyong area.
