Australian Technical College appoints Principal and CEOThe Australian Technical College Central Coast has announced the appointment of Joanne Avery-Williams as the College’s first Principal. Ms Avery-Williams is eminently qualified for the position both in teaching experience and academic qualifications having taught in NSW government and independent schools.The Australian Technical College Central College were searching for a Principal with exceptional leadership skills, who had a commitment to academic excellence and a passion for creating a supportive, challenging and rewarding environment for the education of young people. Ms Avery-Williams said, “she is looking forward to inspiring students, empowering staff and together with the Board of Directors, formulate a vision for the future direction of the Australian Technical College Central Coast. Ms Avery-Williams has a Masters of Educational Administration & Leadership, a Bachelor of Education (TAS), Certificate IV in Hospitality (Catering Operations), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations), Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and more. She has 16 years experience in Education and has been a VET, Hospitality Teacher, Head of TAS, Educational Account Manager and a Tutor of Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAA40104. She has current Industry knowledge as she has owned and operated her own registered Catering business for eight years. She has trained wait staff, bar staff and chefs to work at functions. She believes that students must have goals. Every student deserves to be nurtured along their educational journey and that is what makes this Australian Technical College Central Coast so unique. We have Mentors guiding these students through their apprenticeship. Interim CEO appointed The College has also announced the appointment of Alison Bannister as Interim CEO. Ms Bannister has taught in a number of schools in Sydney and on the Central Coast over the past thirty years. She has a Graduate Diploma in Education; Bachelor of Education; and has recently completed a Master’s in Education. Ms Bannister was Founding Principal of the Wyong Christian Community School and held the position for the past fourteen years. For the past nine months she has been working for New Hope International, an organisation that works with teachers in developing countries to provide them with additional teacher training. |
