Terrigal Supermarket has a new lease of life with owner, Jason Parrelli relocating to new premises next door and renaming the business SPAR Supermarket.

SPAR is a buying group made up of independent retail store owners and is itself a franchise of a worldwide group.

The new store at 400 sqm is 35% larger than the previous store which has operated in Terrigal for over fifty years.

“By going with SPAR we have put ourselves in a very strong competitive position in Terrigal,” said Mr Perrelli.

A university graduate, Mr Parrelli inherited the business from his grandfather who came to Terrigal in the early 1980’s as Store Manager for Permewan’s and subsequently bought it in 1985 when they withdrew from retailing.  Due to illness he handed management of the business to his grandson in 2000 and died in 2005.
