Government's support for Wyong
The State Government will provide Wyong Chamber of Commerce with $24,700 to help “advance” local businesses and create more jobs.
Minister for Regional Development, The Hon. Tony Kelly was in Wyong just prior to Christmas to make the announcement and meet local business leaders. “The Iemma Government is working hard to drive economic growth in regional areas,” said Mr Kelly, “and we are putting our shoulder to the wheel by supporting the Advance Wyong Project.” Commenting on the funding, Member for Wyong, Mr David Harris, said the Advance Wyong Project will provide a range of business development and promotional strategies to foster business confidence and engage community interest. The Project has been developed in consultation with business and community groups in the Wyong and Tuggerah areas. It will follow a partnership approach to economic development, with businesses and the community working together to advance and develop the Wyong area. The project has been developed as part of the Wyong and District Community Economic Development Stategic Plan and has the support of Wyong Council.
