National coverage for the Mariners worth millions

In the lead up to last month’s Hyundai A-League Grand Final at Sydney Football Stadium the Central Coast Mariners featured in the major daily newspapers. The Sydney Morning Herald, The Daily Telegraph, the Sunday papers and the Australian Financial Review all carried extensive stories on the Central Coast Mariners.

Commenting on the reports, Central Coast Tourism CEO, Horst Endrulat said, “the coverage has been fantastic and would have been worth at least two million dollars, it’s coverage that money can’t buy.”
Mr Endrulat said that the real value in the Mariners is that they will be playing in the 2009 Asia Cup against countries like China, Korea and Japan.
With Business Central Coast and Central Coast Tourism now working closely together the real value will be many more millions of dollars.  “It could be ten times more than that,” he said.
“Our joint promotion last year when the Mariners played in Hong Kong  7’s was a great success.  It will be even better if we can continue that co-operation next year.”
Business Central Coast General Manager, Kerry Ruffels said, “There is now a real strength in the partnership between Business Central Coast, Central Coast Tourism and the Central Coast Mariners.”
“The Mariners’ high profile in the A-League has presented us with opportunities that we never expected. This is particularly so when you start to think about the opportunities that playing in the 2009 Asia Cup will give for tourism, manufacturers and exporters.
