Blue Bay originals are much sought-after
The property: An original 1960s beach cottage at 39 Werrina Parade, Blue Bay which was the much-loved weekender of the late Dr David McGrath – a well known Eastern Suburbs medical specialist. The unrenovated three bedroom cottage sits high on 760sqm land and overlooks Blue Bay.
The price: $1,050,000
The sale: The property was offered for sale by expressions of interest over $1 million and was on the market for just four weeks.
The buyer: A local buyer purchased the property and will now renovate it.
The agent: Bruce McLachlan of McLachlan Partners Central Coast commented that this sale is a reminder that the Central Coast property market is still a “safe haven” investment. He said, “Despite the economic climate, the owner’s original outlay of $125,000 grew nearly tenfold, since they originally purchased the weekender through McLachlan Partners in 1982 – a great return plus the enjoyment of a beachhouse for their family’s use – not many stockbrokers could boast this at present!”


$4 million penthouse purchase
The property: A four bedroom, four bathroom apartment at 6/15 Cliff Avenue, Avoca Beach, described as the best penthouse ever to be offered on the Central Coast. The sale: The property was predominantly advertised online, featuring as a “You wish” property on domain.com.au
The buyer: The penthouse was purchased by a Sydney buyer to be used as a holiday home.

The property: A four bedroom, three bathroom home on four acres at 356 Scenic Highway, Terrigal. The stunning 91 square home has ocean views, tennis court, inground pool, guest accommodation, home cinema and wine tasting room. This magnificent home was the primary residence for the previous owners who relocated to Europe.
The price: $2,160,000
The sale: This property had been on the market for three years with other agents. It was listed and sold by LJ Hooker via private treaty within a matter of months.
The buyer: It has been purchased by locals who intend to also use it as their primary residence.

Terrigal apartment with luxury price tag

The property: 3/2 Barnhill Road, Terrigal – a four bedroom, two bathroom apartment in one of Terrigal’s prime positions. The striking apartment exudes elegance and features panoramic views spanning from The Skillion to Wamberal beach and beyond.

The sale: The property was sold a day after auction and was promoted via a Sydney and local advertising campaign.
The buyer: A Sydney buyer purchased the apartment as a holiday home.

The property: A three bedroom, three bathroom apartment at 6/22 Barnhill Road, Terrigal with open plan layout, modern ensuite, great sized bedrooms and parking for four cars. The property is just over two years old and is located within a short stroll to the beach and cafe scene. It features stunning ocean views.
The price: $1,080,000
The sale: The property sold prior to auction and attracted more than 70 inspections.
The buyer: It was purchased by a Central Coast businessman.
The agent: Jamie Granger of Property Central negotiated the sale.


North Avoca home boasts exquisite detail
The property: A four bedroom, three bathroom contemporary tri-level home at 74 Tramway Road, North Avoca. The property’s unrivalled grandeur takes advantage of breathtaking 180 degree views and offers exquisite attention to detail.
The price: $1,530,000
The sale: The property didn’t sell at auction and was back on the market with a picture signboard out the front of the property. The buyer was passing the property and rang the agent after seeing the “For Sale” sign.
The buyer: The new owner comes from Sydney.
The agent: Deanne Hobday of McGrath Central Coast.


Barnhill home captivates local buyer
The property: A six bedroom, three bathroom beach home on 809sqm land with sweeping views from almost every room of the house. Located just metres from the beach, the home represents the best in holiday or permanent living.
The price: $1,875,000
The sale: A Sydney and local auction advertising campaign promoted the property in the lead-up to auction, however the property failed to sell under the hammer. It sold three weeks post auction.
The buyer: A local buyer is the new owner.
The agent: Mat Steinwede of McGrath Central Coast.

The property: A four bedroom, three bathroom home at 25 Steyne Road, Saratoga, set on a 1,131sqm parcel of level land with manicured gardens and swimming pool.
