Local Tech company scores national recognition

The Australian Telecommunications User Group (ATUG) runs an awards ceremony each year to recognise the most innovative products and services on the Australian market. This is the first year Blink Mobile has entered the awards with their BounceBack SMS service and they ultimately received a ‘Highly Commended’ in the overall ‘Innovations in Communications’ category.

The Awards were presented by The Hon. Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, with other award winners and nominees including Optus, Telstra and State Government bodies.

Blink Mobile’s BounceBack SMS service was developed on the Central Coast and received a lot of early support from local sports associations, clubs, schools and community groups. The company now enjoys the support of more than 400 customers and has processed more than 150,000 SMS information requests on their behalf. Last year the BounceBack SMS service was also adopted by Wyong and Gosford Councils and this Local Government version of the service has since spread to another five NSW Councils with many more in the pipeline.
