The latest business sales, new businesses and executive appointments on the Central Coast.
Andrews Neil UDG appoints General Manager
Andrews Neil Urban Design Group has announced the appointment of Kristy Ryan as General Manager of their Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, Landscape Architecture and Interior Architecture practice – the largest design consultancy in NSW outside of a major metro area.
Ms Ryan has extensive experience across Australia in urban design and architectural projects spanning both the public and private sectors of the infrastructure, service and development industries.
This appointment comes shortly after Andrews Neil UDG’s success in winning the design and documentation of the Federal Government’s Nation Building Stimulus Package rollout for the Central Coast’s public schools upgrades as well as Housing NSW’s social housing program.
Commenting on Ms Ryan’s appointment, Design Director, Andrew Dickson said, “Ms Ryan has been an invaluable part of our business for nearly eight years, and placing her at the helm gives our practice a sound management direction, one that is grounded in a firm understanding of the needs of our clients.”
Aussie opens in Gosford
Ron Lloyd and Carl Ferns have opened an Aussie Home Loan franchise in Mann Street, Gosford, known as Aussie Gosford. It is the first Aussie franchise operation on the Central Coast and was opened by Aussie Home Loan’s Chief Executive Officer, John Symond and Federal Member for Robertson, Belinda Neal at the end of August.
Both Mr Lloyd and Mr Ferns have been accredited Aussie Mortgage Advisors for the past five years, operating from an office at Tuggerah. They are assisted in the administration of the business by their wives, Jo Lloyd and Maggie Ferns.
New owner for Gosford printer
Tony Gow has bought Island Offset – a long established printing business at West Gosford.
Island Offset has been in business since 1986, having been established by Neville Smith who has now retired. Mr Gow had been General Manager of Melbourne-based Energi Print which had bought Central Coast Printing after it went into liquidation in 2005. Earlier this year Energi Print closed the West Gosford operation, moving it back to Victoria.
Mr Gow had been Production Manager at Central Coast Printing and prior to that was Production Manager at Lisarow print company, Print National. Island Offset specialises in smaller print runs including letterheads, business cards, envelopes and docket books.
Starr Partners to expand on Coast
East Gosford real estate agents, Starr Partners Real Estate, are about to embark on an expansion plan that will see them establishing offices throughout the Central Coast. Brothers Peter and John Starr established their first agency at Merrylands in 1972, and twenty years later, John and brother, Phillip Starr, set up Starr Partners Real Estate. Today they operate thirty franchised offices throughout Western Sydney with their Head Office at Castle Hill. The Sydney operation continues to be managed by John Starr who also holds a financial interest in each of the franchised offices.
In 1978, Peter Starr moved to the Central Coast and established the Peter Robert Hyundai motor dealership at North Gosford. The dealership was sold to Booth’s Motor Group in 2004. Peter and the fourth Starr brother, Paul, have recently opened new offices at Victoria Court, East Gosford which will be the sales office for the area as well as being the administration office for the expanding business.
The Starr Partners Real Estate franchise was established in East Gosford some twelve years ago with Stephen Gittoes as franchisee until August this year.
All Things Christmas to expand
Erina retail store, All Things Christmas, is to expand following its sale to Kevin and Niki Barnes. Established some ten years ago in Karalta Lane, Erina and owned by Kerry Polter for the past five years, the store is well known for its high-end Christmas decorations.
The Barnes’ will open a short-term Christmas store at Westfield Tuggerah for the 2009 Christmas season and plan to open similar stores at other Westfield centres in future years. Mr Barnes also has an interest in Christmas Classics – a wholesale import business that services retail stores throughout Australia.
New finance service
Simon Wilby has established Fast Approval Finance Solutions Pty Ltd, specialising in business finance. “We offer a tailored approach to business finance needs that will suit the needs for each particular client. We aim to provide workable solutions to reduce business core debt as well as provide solutions for business growth,” said Mr Wilby, who has over twenty-five years experience in the finance area.
