Golf Cart Group to rev up this yearWest Gosford based Golf Cart Group is planning to increase their business fivefold this year following the appointment of General Manager, Peter Davies in late 2009.Golf Cart Group owners, John and Chris Bristow, said that the appointment of Mr Davies to oversee the future growth of the business was due to their success in developing the business since they first started importing the US made The Augusta, USA, Club Car company is the largest manufacturer of golf cars and utility vehicles in the world. Since taking on the Club Car business the Bristow’s have bought new premises at West Gosford to accommodate a showroom, offices, warehousing and for servicing of their vehicles. Mr Bristow said that the company had around two hundred new and four hundred used golf and utility cars in stock along with more than a million dollars in spare parts. Their operation presently employs sixteen people. “This is the largest golf cart facility in Australia,” The Golf Cart Group supplies golf courses and resorts throughout the state as well supplying multi-passenger shuttle vehicles and utility vehicles to retirement villages, the major airlines, including Qantas, and other venues requiring Their portfolio of models include 2 to 8 seat people movers, utility trucks and tippers and specialist vehicles such as medical stretcher vehicles for sporting events. Golf Cart Group supplies vehicles to Golf Cart Group’s West Gosford head office, showroom, warehouse and maintenance facility customers on a sale, hire, rental or lease basis and accepts trade-ins. With an eye on the environment Mr Bristow said that their West Gosford facility is carbon neutral and all golf cars are powered by electricity with many using solar power for recharging. The Bristow’s originally commenced business at West Gosford in 2004 as the Electric Motor Company selling and servicing electric motor scooters for the disabled which they imported from China. Prior to joining Golf Cart Group, Mr Davies was General Manager of the Troon Golf managed Pacific Golf Club at Medowie, Port Stephens having held other positions in the Troon Golf organisation. |
