Hunter and Central Coast Parliamentary Showcase

Hunter and Central Coast food and wine producers are to be featured at a major event in Parliament House, Sydney.

The NSW Government, through the Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD) and the Department of Primary Industries, launched an initiative in 2006 which has become known as the Parliamentary Showcase. It involves utilising the NSW Parliament House Dining Room as a vehicle for promoting NSW regional food and wine, as well as the overall regions.

The Hunter and Central Coast region has been successful in its submission to feature in the showcase on 22 June 2009. The showcase is a week-long regional event. The main feature is the launch to an audience of more than 200 Sydney-based food and wine industry stakeholders, trade representatives including providores, restaurateurs, sommeliers, hotel food and beverage managers, caterers, specialty food and wine retailers, and media representatives.

This function represents a significant opportunity for regional suppliers to network and form new commercial relationships.
Regional products will also be selected to feature in the Parliamentary Dining Room menu for the duration of the week following the launch.

The Hunter and Central Coast Food and Wine Parliamentary Showcase is supported by the Hunter Valley Wine Industry Association, Hunter Tourism, and Central Coast Tourism.
