Manufacturing NewsHunterNet supports manufacturing and engineering SME’s on the Central CoastIn early May, Newcastle-based networking group, HunterNet Co-operative, held its inaugural board meeting on the Central Coast. The meeting was held at Business Central Coast’s Ourimbah facility and was supported by the Department of State and Regional Development and Business Central Coast. HunterNet’s Chairman, Nick Killin, welcomed some thirty five guests including local HunterNet members as well as business people from the Central Coast manufacturing and engineering community. HunterNet’s vision is to support and grow its membership base in the Central Coast. Incorporated in 1992, HunterNet is a not-for-profit, non-trading co-operative of over 120 innovative manufacturers, engineers, IT providers, electrical and consulting companies in the Hunter and Central Coast regions. The network promotes the creation of new business, jobs and the developing reputation of the Hunter and Central Coast as Innovative Centres of Excellence in Australia’s regional manufacturing community. HunterNet assists members to develop their business through a process of collaboration, driven by the ‘Power of Many’ concept. Commenting on the success of the meeting, Chief Executive Officer of HunterNet, John Coyle said, “A key growth area for HunterNet is to further develop its position in the Central Coast region. A strategic development program will be implemented over the coming months by our Business Development Manager, David Jones, and is targeted towards local companies who have a need to increase their profile and who wish to build their business through networking, collaboration and being involved in innovative programs”. |
