Ramm Botanicals voted Best ExporterRamm Botanicals has been awarded with the prestigious National Export Award, at the 2009 Nursery and Garden Industry Awards in Parliament House, Canberra in February.Ramm Botanicals won recognition above entries received from nurseries Australia wide, for their exceptional innovation, participation and commitment to exporting plants. The company is responsible for marketing, propagation and distribution of tissue cultures and young plants for both domestic and export markets and are currently hybridising twenty different species. Managing Director, Jeff Cooke, said, "Our current export sales are approaching 20% of business revenue and we are aiming to increase this to 50% in coming years. Previous recessions have not inhibited sales of plant life. The Australian dollar is more competitive now in a global market and plants continue to be a low-cost buy." Nursery & Garden Industry Australia continues to provide an important source of inspiration and encouragement, by showcasing the extraordinary capabilities of individuals and businesses within the industry. Ramm Botanicals commenced trading in December 2002, having merged the entities Yates Botanicals and Ramm Pty Ltd. The company has its own plant breeding programs and also represents outstanding plant breeders from within Australia and around the world. They operate on two sites with their larger tissue culture laboratory operating from Somersby, whilst their young plant nursery, second laboratory, R&D facility and administration offices are located on the Pacific Highway at Tuggerah. |
