SICO's new Berkeley Vale facilitySICO South Pacific, manufacturer of portable dance floors, has moved to a new purpose-built facility at Berkeley Vale.This is the third move for SICO in the Berkeley Vale area since being established by its US parent twenty-two years ago, with each move to accommodate its growing business. Over that period the company’s sales have grown from $200,000 to $8.5 million in 2008. Commenting on the move, Managing Director, Jamie Hurst said, “Our goal was to create a property that would be able to match the superiority of SICO products and raise the quality of our assembly, sales and administration work which has attributed to the success that SSP is today. “We now have a modern and state-of-the-art facility that provides a safe, comfortable and secure working environment for all current and future SSP staff,” he said. Features of the new facility, which represents a multi-million investment, include four loading docks – two with automatic levelling, a complete wireless network throughout the building, improved security system, larger training/board room as well as an outdoor staff area. SICO South Pacific manufactures portable dance floors, mobile folding tables, mobile folding stages, wall-beds and other products for the hospitality and related industries. The company is a global leader of portable product solutions that optimise the use of space. SICO has supplied the majority of the clubs on the Central Coast, along with some schools and function centres with their products. Their major clients include Acer Arena, Star City, Sydney Olympic Park and most five star hotels. Their largest order in recent years was the supply of staging, floors and equipment for the billion dollar Darwin Convention Centre last year. The company also exports to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and South Africa. |
