Salary survey will provide benchmark for local employers

Forsythes Recruitment has announced the launch of the region’s first dedicated local salary survey, providing instant, accurate and easy-to-use salary data, based exclusively on local market conditions.

This is a comprehensive survey that not only delivers valuable and immediate feedback to those who confidentially submit their salary details, but also records data longitudinally to produce some very powerful regional statistics annually.

In making the announcement, Forsythes Recruitment Partner, Geoff Crews and Chief Executive, Paul Hankinson said, “For many years we’ve relied on our experience as employment consultants to advise clients on remuneration issues but we’ve longed for more robust statistics – like those readily available in capital cities – on which to benchmark our advice. Now after several years of our own research, and support from specialists in the field, we are very proud to be able to deliver this service to our local region”.

Mr Crews said, “The practicality of the survey is its most outstanding feature. A dedicated web portal will allow not only HR professionals and business owners, but also a wide variety of employees from accountants and clerical staff, to trades people and engineers, to enter and then compare their salaries to others in the local market and beyond. I think many people will be interested to see the trends in our local region and possibly surprised at how these are changing relative to our Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney neighbours”.

“While in its infancy we have already had an overwhelming response from Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Central Coast respondents and we are aiming for thousands more responses over the coming months” said Mr Crews. “This data will provide us with some robust statistics to present back to the business community at our launch in May”.
