CSR puts HEBEL Somersby on the world stage

Australia’s only Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) manufacturing plant, is being expanded with an additional state of the art manufacturing line that is set to double the current capacity. CSR first invested on the Central Coast in 1988 when it built what at the time was state of the art plant. 30 years later, having grown the product and its market acceptance in every segment of the building industry prompting CSR to invest at Somersby building what will be the most sophisticated plant of its kind in the world. Borrowing proven European technology along with extensive in-house designs and processes, the expansion will see the plant’s capacity double to meet a growing demand for AAC products throughout Australia and New Zealand, and on completion in early 2019 will see the highly automated state-of-the-art facility put Somersby on the global map in its industry.

The project includes a new 10,000 SQM production building and associated facilities with a production plant designed to be at the cutting edge in terms of energy efficiency, water usage and waste
