No dredging a threat to business

The Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has criticised all levels of government for the lack of action on the dredging of the Ettalong Beach channel which now has the potential to impact on local businesses.

“The lack of action by both the NSW State Government and the Central Coast Council over the dredging of the channel now has the potential to seriously threaten local businesses particularly those in the tourism sector”, said Chamber President Matthew Wales.

“With Palm Beach Ferries threatening to shut down services due to grounding of vessels, you have to wonder why it is taking so long for Council and the Government to sit round the table and sort out a long term plan,” he said.
