UON to offer face to face MBA course in Gosford

For the first time on the Central Coast, business professionals can grow their knowledge and leadership skills, by completing a Master of Business Administration, delivered by University of Newcastle experts, in the Gosford CBD.

From May 2018, Central Coast professionals will have access to a comprehensive MBA programme, right on their doorstep, with specialisations such as health services management, innovation and entrepreneurship, marketing and human resource management, designed to reflect the demand for professional employment in the region.

The University of Newcastle (UON) Central Coast Business School Coordinator, Dr Sarah Bankins, said that providing postgraduate study options on the Central Coast is critical for supporting the growth of the region.
Earlier this year UON surveyed regional stakeholders to scope the demand for postgraduate study on the Central Coast, particularly for an MBA programme, Dr Bankins said.

“We have a great campus at Ourimbah, but we also recognise that Gosford is a key commuter hub to and from the Coast and our survey feedback indicated that to enable people to balance work, study and other commitments, a central Gosford location was a good option.”
The MBA offering at Gosford will involve six core courses delivered face-to-face by leading UON academics, with the remaining six courses, focused on a range of specialisations and elective courses, available online.

“Providing flexibility for MBA students in terms of course delivery is really important. We want students to gain the benefits of networking and studying within a cohort, but also have the flexibility to choose from a range of elective courses which online delivery provides,” Dr Bankins said.

“UON Central Coast is committed to delivering high-value and flexible postgraduate study options for our region and we’re delighted that our MBA will be offered in Gosford next year.”
