Coast manufacturers shine at Hunter Manufacturing Awards

Three Central Coast manufacturers have taken out awards at the Hunter Manufacturers Association’s 2022 awards for excellence in manufacturing competing against the best of the best across the Hunter, New England, and Central Coast regions.

Apprentice of the Year – Alex Nivison

Manufacturing Leader Award -

Bruce Hegan – 4id Solutions

Excellence in Manufacturing Capability Award - Elecbrakes

In an Australian first, Lisarow based Elecbrakes was founded by Craig de Leon who invented an electronic brake controller which eliminates the need for wires and allows users to control their brakes via Bluetooth and their smartphones.

The Judges commented, “Elecbrakes were forced by supplier unreliability to take matters into their own hands and set up for manufacturing of components they’d previously bought in.

They set up their own manufacturing line to produce the needed circuit boards and surface mounted devices. Meanwhile almost doubling productivity.
