Stagnant economic growth a concern
After hitting a high of $15,535 million in 2019 GRP has fallen back to levels last seen in 2017. However, it should be noted that the region’s growth over the past 20 years has stagnated.  GRP in 2001 was $112,426 million with year-on-year changes being less than 1% per annum. This compares with Greater Sydney where year on year growth has been running at around 3.5%. Sydney restaurateur buys Budgewoi hotel

Hotel brokers, HTL Property have announced the sale of The Coast Hotel at Budgewoi for $15 million.

Overlooking Budgewoi Lake, the hotel has been sold to well known restaurateur Bill Drakopoulos of Sydney Restaurant Group (SRG) following a keenly contested off market sale process.

Harvest Hotels, led by Sydney-based publicans Chris Cornforth and Fraser Haughton, will spend $5 million upgrading the 1897-built venue.

December 6th 2021 saw the NSW Government announce another Central Coast Plan, the Central Coast Regional Plan 2036. The third in twelve years and totally at variance with the 2016-2036 Growth Plan in particular.
